Radio One and Akaboozi owner Mohan Kiwanuka disowns son who dragged him to court over demands to be made ‘admin’ of his businesses

Mohan Kiwanuka.

Jordan Ssebuliba, a son to city businessman Mohan Kiwanuka and former Finance Minister Maria Kiwanuka dragged his parents to court over demands to be made ‘admin’ of his businesses. Ssebuliba collected some of his siblings and ganged up on Kiwanuka to give them their share, prodigal son style.

According to Ssebuliba, Kiwanuka is too old and deemed mentally unfit to run the numerous businesses he owns. However, Kiwanuka came out and revealed that Ssebuliba is just a child he adopted and has no right to claim for property. Kiwanuka is the proprietor of Oscar industries, Radio One and Radio Two (Akaboozi kubbiri) and other businesses in Uganda.

Bugingo and Teddy in fresh woes

Enstranged coule Teddy and Aloysious Bugingo.

Early last week, Teddy Naluswa, ex-wife to House of Prayer Ministries lead pastor Aloysious Bugingo came out and accused the pastor of refusing to pay school fees for his children. However, Pastor Bugingo decided to hold a press conference at his offices in Mengo where he gave his account on the matter.

Bugingo refuted the claims saying they are only intended to tarnish his image. He said it would be stupid of him to fail to fulfil his mandate of looking after his children at whatever cost. According to Bugingo, he has regularly paid all the school dues of his children but it is only in this new term where he has not yet cleared.

He further revealed that for the last four years since he decided to leave their marital home in Kitende, he sends Shs800000 per week to cater for the home bills.

According to a statement released by the US Department of Treasury, Kayihura was accused of having been a leader or official of a Police force that engaged in or whose members engaged in serious human rights abuse against Ugandan citizens, as well as for his involvement in corruption.

“We are targeting Uganda’s former Police Inspector General Kale Kayihura for using corruption and bribery to strengthen his political position, as units under his command committed serious human rights abuses,” said Sigal Mandelker, Treasury under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence.
