People Power Movement mouthpiece, Joel Ssenyonyi has revealed that despite the challenges that cause misunderstandings between them and fellow opposition figures in struggle like Dr Kizza Besigye can never be a target of interest in their long walk to the desired peaceful transition.

Ssenyonyi firmly said that their only target is to occupy Uganda’s top office.

“The seat we are targeting is not that of Dr Kizza Besigye but that occupied by Mr Museveni, our political guns are pointing at him,” Ssenyonyi said.

“As People Power, we have got a presidential aspirant who we feel will represent us very well,” said Ssenyonyi as he revealed that since identifying Bobi Wine as their capable candidate, the group has been  promoting and exposing him wherever they go.

On the said violent conducts in the youthful camp, Ssenyonyi said it is not that anybody who puts on a red beret is their member. He said that most of the people who misbehave aren’t known to them.

“As People Power, we are law abiding people, we are non-violent people. If anybody out there wants to engage in violence and law breaking, please do not identify with us,” Ssenyonyi said.

“We want to see a smooth transition of power where there is no bloodshed,” he added.
