The previous week was great for Uganda as the country registered wins in the inaugural East Africa’s Got Talent and Cheptegei getting gold in Doha to fly the Ugandan flag high internationally.

The Ugandan flag is about to fly even higher and farther with the addition of two more Bombardier CRJ 900 aircraft to the Uganda Airlines fleet. This takes the total number of planes in the books of the national carrier to four.

The addition of these Bombardiers means that Uganda Airlines which has been flying to six destinations will have nine more destinations launched; flying to Addis Ababa – Ethiopia, Kinshasa – Democratic Republic of Congo, Johannesburg – South Africa, Lusaka – Zambia, Harare – Zimbabwe, Hargeisa-Somaliland, Asmara – Eritrea, Zanzibar and Djibouti.

The planes are named 5x-KDP and 5x-KNP after Kidepo National Park and Kabalega National Park respectively, which lies in line with one of the airline’s objective to boost tourism in Uganda.
