Police intercepts vehicle carrying suspected stolen cow, occupant takes off

With the recently intensified security patrols, police in Banda yesterday night at round 2:00 am managed to intercept Motor vehicle UAL 769W carrying suspected stolen cow.

Police says when the occupant was alarmed to stop; he took off upon seeing the police officers and abandoned the vehicle.

“Search was conducted in the vehicle and a suspected stolen cow was recovered inside, investigations are still ongoing to identify the owner of the Cow and the owner of the Vehicle which is also suspected to be stolen,” says police.

The two exhibits (cow and vehicle) were taken to Jinja Road Police station.

Lately police together with other security agencies are actively on ground trying to fade out criminal gangs in the country. This followed a directive from President Museveni where he ordered Deputy IGP Muzeyi Sabiti to come up with a  plan that can effectively eliminate the vice.
