If we organised an awards ceremony that appreciates people that value privacy the most, Rema Namakula would win every category hands down.

Rema literally broke Uganda’s internet when she gave the green light for the photos of her first Kukyala with fiancé Dr Hamzah Sebunya to be released on social media and news channels because prior to that, almost nobody knew about their relationship.

This is going to be the case today, the day of her introduction ceremony, because Rema’s privacy concerns are at an all-time high.

News reaching us from Nabbingo, the venue of the ceremony is that no live coverage of the happenings is allowed whatsoever. Guests and journalists alike are not allowed to live stream the event on their social media pages, websites, radios or TV channels.

We have been told by a source at the venue that they are currently negotiating with the dimpled singer to see that she can allow them feed the overly waiting fans and social media ‘relatives’ the happenings of the Kwanjula.

Whether the negotiations will be fruitful or not is what we are waiting to see.
