South African band Mafikizolo thrills guests at Absa Bank Uganda launch

We are more than sure that many of you never came to realise that the giant South African band Mafikizolo was in the country over the weekend.

Mafikizolo headlined the launch event of Absa Bank Uganda at the Kampala Serena Hotel as they thrilled guests with their electric live performance.

The duo NhlanhlaSibongile Mafu, and Theo Kgosinkwe took guests through their popular musical lane performing songs like; Ndihamba Nawe, Udakwa Njalo, Tchelete, Love Potion, Khona and Kucheza among others.

On Monday last week, Absa Bank Uganda, a subsidiary of Absa Group Limited received the license to operate and trade under its new name from Bank of Uganda. Formerly known as Barclays Bank Uganda, the name change marks the start of a new era for the bank’s operations.

The license was officially handed over to the bank’s Managing Director Nazim Mahmood by Governor Bank of Uganda Emmanuel Mutebile, at the Central Bank head office in Kampala.
