Woman kills her boyfriend after finding him taking ARVs behind her back

Police in Hoima are holding a woman for allegedly killing her boyfriend Emmanuel Tumusiime in Kijumba cell, Kigorobya town council, Hoima district after she found him taking his anti-retroviral (ARVs) drugs.

According to Police, the woman whose name is yet to be disclosed hit Tumusiime on the head with an axe that claimed his life on the spot.

Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Regional Police Spokesperson said that  the woman reported herself to Hoima Central Police Station when she realised she had killed her 35-year-old boyfriend.

“Upon realizing that the lover was dead, the suspect locked the house and jumped on a Boda boda to Hoima central police where she reported a case of murder,” Hakiza said.

In her defense, the woman said that she felt disappointed and hurt and disappointed with the fact that her boyfriend was doing this all behind her back, and feared that he might have infected her with HIV already.

She is currently under detention at Hoima Central Police Station.
