When we take power, we shall make sure the Ugandan visa is expensive – Mugisha Muntu

Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) National Coordinator Rtd Maj Gen Mugisha Muntu is not one to shy away from his sentiments or opinion on anything regarding the political atmosphere of the country.

In a recent interview with a local publication, he was asked about the state of our borders being at risk due to informal movements, and he quickly blamed it on Government’s failure to settle the conundrum of labour exportation.

Muntu said that people are dying and suffering in Middle East countries and the government does nothing about it. This is when he declared that when they take power, he will make sure that the Ugandan visa is expensive.

He attributed this to Uganda having green pastures all year round and it would therefore use this to grow as many resources as possible. He added that the advantage Uganda has is very big and it can be used.

When Muntu talked about “we” taking power, he could have indirectly referred to the People Power faction as well as he said he would not mind backing Bobi Wine for the Presidency if they agree on terms that they are currently discussing.

“We are working on a coalition and we shall work on that and yes, I would back him up if we agree on that. We are first building stability and trust” he said, adding that he is glad Bobi Wine came up and shook up the status quo and brought vibrancy into the country.

When asked if the country will have free and fair elections he said that he is not one of those people with such illusions, saying, “It cannot happen and we know it.”
