Sheilah Gashumba has revealed that she never regretted abandoning her TV career for ‘private’ ventures as her lavish lifestyle remained the same even when she is off the screen.

Gashumba admitted that though TV gave her a huge following, it paid her less than what she was getting from her personal ventures. She however said since it subscribes to the media fraternity, she felt wise to come out and advocate for a pay rise in the media industry.

“My life is perfect, whether I’m on TV or not. However, most people are not as lucky as I am. I want to see other presenters living fabulous lives,” Sheilah said.

Sheilah explained that she made the ’50K pay’ statement not to undermine TV presenters but to help them earn according to their worth.

“I wanted to inspire the next generation of TV presenters. I believe that it is unfair for TV presenters to receive little pay,” she said.
