Fire guts Uganda Martyr’s SS boys dormitory, all students’ items burn to ashes

Kira Division Police are investigating a fire outbreak that happened today at around 6am in the morning at Uganda Martyr’s SS Namugongo in Namugongo, Kira Municipality in Wakiso District.

Fire Prevention and Rescue Services responded at the scene and the fire was later put out.

“It has been established that the fire started from a two storied building which was a dormitory for senior two and senior three students. A lot of property (personal effects for students) has been destroyed. There were no students at the time,” says Police in a statement.

The cause of the fire is yet to be known and Kira Division Police is still investigating to ascertain what exactly caused the fire as different samples have been picked and exhibited.
