Motor-mouthed political commentator and motivational speaker Frank Gashumba has heavily slammed the breed and purpose of political parties in Uganda.

While addressing Democratic Party leaders yesterday in Kampala, Gashumba claimed that only two political parties; DP and Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) will stay forever. He said the reason for their long survival is that they formed on firm principles.

Gashumba said current popular political parties that include; the ruling party National Resistance Movement (NRM), Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) and National Unity Platform (NUP) will not survive after their founders.

“God forbid, if President Museveni passes on now, can NRM survive? If Besigye dies now, can FDC survive? Same to NUP, can it survive if Bobi Wine dies now,” Gashumba asked.

According Gashumba, most political parties in Uganda especially those formed after the year 2000 are ‘Emotional Parties’.

“Their founders got excited and decided to form them for personal agendas,” he said.
