In a long post on his various social media platforms this morning, President Yoweri Museveni revealed that State Minister for Labour and Industrial Development Mwesigwa Rukutana is going to be prosecuted for his actions in the NRM party primaries.

However, the story has now taken a new twist as Samson Kasasira, the Police Spokesperson for Rwizi region has disclosed that the victim of the gun shooting incident was hit by a different object.

“The Director for CID Grace Akullo has found out that the injuries sustained by the victim aren’t from a bullet but from an object that is yet to be identified.” Samson Kasasira said while speaking to NTV.

Rukutana was arrested on Friday as he was involved in a shooting incident in Rushenyi, Ntungamo district. The video of the incident was widely shared on social media. He is currently being held at Mbarara Police Station together with his two escorts.

It’s alleged that Rukutana turned violate following his defeat to Naome Kabasharira in the NRM primaries.
