World Champion Joshua Cheptegei’s athletic prowess is not only winning him medals but also landing him promotion in the Uganda Police Force.

While addressing the media today afternoon, Police spokesperson CP Fred Enanga revealed that the Police Advisory Committee has recommended Inspector of Police (IP) Cheptegei who recently broke three World Records in long distance running competitions, for promotion to his next rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).

In a space of just three months, Cheptegei broke three world records. He set a new 5km road race world record in 12 minutes 51 seconds, erasing the previous mark of 13:22. He also now holds the 5,000 m and 10,000 m world records.
