Tooro Princess Ruth Kugonza succumbs to Covid-19

Tooro Kingdom is mourning the death of Princess Ruth Cox Kugonza Amooti a renowned member of the royal family.

According to a close relative , Princess Kugonza passed on today morning. She succumbed to the deadly Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Veteran journalist Andrew Mwenda shared the sad news on his social media.

“On Sunday we lost a cousin, Margret Kanyiginya to Covid-19.This morning, we have just lost yet another cousin, Cox, to Covid,” Mwenda posted.

Princess Kugonza was a darling to many Batooro and several top government officials, among them Gen. Salim Saleh. She made headlines last month when she got wedded to her long-time fiancé Larry Richard Abala.

The couple’s introduction photos caused an uproar on social media because of the couple’s evident age difference.

It is not yet clear whether Princess Kugonza and her hubby Abala had children together.
