Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine might not today be able to kick off his Presidential bid consultations as scheduled. The Presidential hopeful was today Monday, January 6, 2020 going to kick off his consultations in the constituency he represents in Parliament at Our Lady of Good Counsel Gayaza grounds.

A developing story reaching us indicates that there is heavy beefed up security deployment at the venue. And Police has ordered tent and music service providers to vacate the grounds.

Service providers leaving.

A statement from officers on the ground say Bobi Wine was instructed to hold his consultations in closed spaces not on open grounds.

In an acceptance letter, EC chairman Justice Simon Byabakama said that the meetings must be held in sheltered places.

Police deployed heavily.

“We urge you to desist from holding rallies, campaigns and carrying out processions on public roads under the guise of conducting consultative meetings as this would totally be contrary to the objectives of consultations envisaged under section three of the Presidential Elections Act of 2005,” the letter read in part.
