Earlier this week, The New Vision paper reported a story of a sex scandal at Kazo Church of Uganda in Mbarara district where the choir pianist, 23-year-old Perusi Serena Nabirye accused Rev Ronald Kalende for impregnating and fathering her child.

Kalende first came out denying the accusations before pointing fingers to his fellow Rev Julius Matovu of being the one responsible for Nabirye’s situation.

The scandal was forwarded to Namirembe Diocese and today the diocese has resolved to suspend Rev Kalende. According to the statement from the diocese, Rev Kalende admitted to have had an affair with Nabirye.

Kalende went ahead to give Nabirye’s baby girl a name and also accepted to financially support the mother.

Should we say shockingly, weirdly, or happily? Kalende is set to walk down the aisle next week on Friday, not with Nabirye but with a daughter of a Reverend.
