During the burial of Ritah Nabukenya, a People Power leader who was allegedly knocked dead by a Police patrol on Monday morning, Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi, the leader of the youthful movement challenged Police to produce the CCTV footage of the crime scene.

On the same day of the incident, Police in a statement promised to retrieve and release the footage of the scene as they claimed Ritah got involved in an accident when a boda boda she was riding on collided with another boda boda.

The new development in the incident according to Daily Monitor, reveals that Police spokesperson Fred Enanga said the CCTV camera at the scene in Nakawa Division was faulty at the time of the accident.

“At the time of the incident, the network of the CCTV camera at that place was off and it did not have power until 10pm in the night. We are, however, still assessing the incident to see if we can retrieve some information from the cameras close to it. When we get the footage, I will share it with you,” Enanga said.

This seems a busy week for Police as yesterday another People Power supporter was controversially shot dead in Nansana during a scuffle between Police and a crowd that was escorting Bobi Wine.

Reports of those from the People Power camp indicate that a one Daniel Kyeyune was shot by an LDU officer but Police says none of their officers shot anyone but they are investigating the incident.
