The National Response Fund committee of COVID-19 has called upon Cabinet Ministers, Members of Parliament, Permanent Secretaries, Directories, Commissioners, Local government structures, and all civil servants to emulate President Museveni by contributing to the COVID-19 fund.

Chairman fundraising committee Eng. Emmanuel Katongole said though the fund has received an overwhelming response from Ugandans and other well-wishers, there is need to raise more. Katongole said Shs21 billion has so far been raised but their target is Shs170 billion.

“So far Shs7 billion has been banked, Shs4 billion is still in pledges, 50 motor vehicles valued at Shs5 billion, foodstuffs and medical equipment valued at Shs5 billion,” Katongole said.
