Busiro County East constituency Member of Parliament, Medard Lubega Sseggona has advised fellow legislators to stop wasting time in explaining why they deserved the Shs20 million each to fight against COVID-19 in their respective constituencies.

Sseggona said he has always given in his all when defending Parliament but this time the August House betrayed the population.

“I would give my blood to defend Parliament of Uganda. But I think we all fell short of the glory, we sinned especially in a crisis like this,” Sseggona said.

He added, “As a politician, I will not handle public funds. Any money that comes to my account should be personal money and that is why I returned that Shs20m.”

Sseggona was one of the first MPs to return the controversial Shs20m to government’s consolidated fund after sighting illegalities in the allocation of the funds.
