Bukooli Central Member of Parliament Solomon Silwany has mocked opposition’s decision to merge People’s Government and People Power Movement. He says the union is cosmetic and it will not enable them reach their goal of defeating President Museveni.

Silwany says even when he was still in the opposition, he suggested that the best opposition would be a united one; they have, however, united late. He states that Museveni’s National Resistance Movement (NRM) is going to easily bundle them up.

“It is luck for the NRM that these people have come together in a sack. NRM will just pick this sack and throw it aside. The victory will be easy,” Silwany says.

He also believes that the opposition should be giving an alternative to its supporters but their union indicates that they are putting old wine in a new bottle.

Yesterday People Power Movement and People’s Government through their leaders Bobi Wine and Dr Kizza Besigye announced an alliance dubbed “United Forces of Change” ahead of the 2021 General Elections.
