As many businesses and institutions are asking government to reopen just like other ventures have been given the green light to resume, Saloon and Spa Association of Uganda has petitioned the Speaker Rebecca Kadaga seeking the re-opening of their businesses.

The association told Kadaga that it’s members need to get back to work and be able to sustain their families, they (Saloon and Spa) play a big role in beautifying people.

They also told Kadaga that their continued closure exposes people to the Covid-19 pandemic since some saloon operators are working behind closed doors. They want Government to allow them to re-open with guidelines on how to operate in a safe manner. They also want to be guided on how they can acquire the stimulus package.

Kadaga pledged to intervene, saying that saloon operators play a big role in employing youths before equally admitting that they as well as help in beautifying people.

“As a country, we should be trying to find ways to facilitate people to work but also stay safe,” Kadaga said.
