Veteran controversial journalist Andrew Mwenda has praised four-time Presidential candidate Kizza Besigye for consistently being the shining star amongst individuals who want to fight President Yoweri Museveni.

While commenting on the criticism that has been launched on Besigye asking him to quit elective politics, Mwenda said Besigye represents the most militant voice against Museveni.

“Besigye has always been that shining star and a rallying point for all anti-Museveni forces. He’s exhibited the most admirable characters of leadership in opposition because he has stayed true to his beliefs,” Mwenda said.

Mwenda said Besigye has held the opposition together for a long time in the struggle against Museveni. However, he noted that they (opposition) are in a very difficult position as they are fighting a very sophisticated enemy (Museveni).

Mwenda said that opposition is failing to win the hearts of majority Ugandans because of their rudeness tendencies.

“So many people can support the opposition in Uganda, but they are blown away by the radicals in the opposition. It is so difficult to win over people by insulting them,” he said.
