National Unity Platform (NUP) party has today launched a fundraising campaign for their 2021 political activities. According to Aisha Kabanda, the deputy secretary-general of the party and chairperson of the fundraising committee, they are targeting over Shs1 trillion from about 12 million Ugandans across the globe.

Kabanda said every penny given to them will count and their committee will transparently account for every coin received.

“We all know the struggle against the regime needs a lot of resources to be able to reach out to our voters and convince them to vote for us. Unlike those who are in power that are going to use tax payers’ money, for us we have to reach out to loving Ugandans to make a contribution,” Kabanda said.

With the forthcoming election being ‘scientific’, Kabanda said they need massive branding and strong presence in the media to push their message.

She said well wishers can also offer services like transport, fuel and printing t-shirts, banners, caps among others.
