Two children were burnt to death in a house in Wakiso District on Saturday.

According to Police, at about 88pm they got information from members of the community about fire outbreak in a house belonging to Godfrey Lule, 40, a resident of Kisimbiri A village, Kisimbiri Parish Wakiso Town Council in Wakiso District.

At the scene, the police discovered two juveniles Cyrus Lule, 9 months, and Jeremiah Muhingo, 2, were burned to death in the house.

It is alleged that the mother to the deceased children only identified as Agnes, left charcoal stove inside the house, which caused the fire.

It is also alleged that she had gone out of the house to party as the husband was also not at home. The mother to the kids fainted upon receiving news of the death of her children.

The bodies were taken to the city mortuary for post mortem. The case is under investigations.

“We appeal to the community not leave charcoal stoves or burning candles without an adult attending to them,” says police.
