Sad news coming in indicates that Lord Mayor Aspirant Al-haji Nasser Ntege Ssebagala is reportedly undergoing treatment at Kampala International Hospital (IHK).

Sources say that the former Kampala Lord Mayor yesterday fell in his bathroom while he was taking a bath. His family members rushed him to IHK and was immediately admitted for special treatment.

Having been off the political scene for a while, Ssebagala made a surprise return a few months ago when he declared his intentions to stand for the Kampala Lord Mayor Seat in the forthcoming elections.

Al-haji Ssebagala further revealed that he would contest on the National Unity Platform (NUP) ticket, a party led by presidential hopeful Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine.

In the 2006 general elections, Ssebagala declared his intentions to race for the country’s top office as an independent. He however dropped out and joined the Kampala mayoral race which he convincingly won.

He was Mayor of Kampala from 2006 to 2011. In 2010, he lost the Democratic Party Presidential flag bearer nomination primaries to Norbert Mao and he decided to quit DP and formed his own party before joining President Yoweri Museveni.
