City businessman and events promoter Balaam Barugahara’s maiden political talk show appearance will for a while be a regrettable move for him.

Balaam yesterday appeared on NBS TV’s Barometer show and one of the panellists and Mukono Municipality Member of Parliament Betty Nambooze welcomed him by throwing jabs.

Nambooze first accused Balaam of playing games in useful political programs that is intended to educate and sensitize Ugandans.

“When I saw Balaam, I thought I had come for NBS Uncut Sabula but again it wasn’t Saturday,” Nambooze said.

The legislator went aggressive and without any reservation when he described Balaam as a ‘politically useful idiot’ for the regime and specifically President Yoweri Museveni.

In Political science, ‘useful idiot’ is a person perceived as propagandizing for a cause without fully comprehending its goals and are cynically used by the cause’s leaders.

Of late, Balaam describes himself as scout for the ruling NRM party as he has kept on ‘poaching’ renowned regime critics especially from the entertainment industry. His latest ‘signing’ is Basajja Mivule, a veteran political talk show host.
