Uganda U17 girls team head coach tests positive for COVID-19

Uganda U17 girls national team head coach Ayub Khalifah has tested positive for the deadly coronavirus.

Ayub is now under self-isolation away from the rest of the team that had camped at Cranes Paradise Hotel in Kisaasi as he starts treatment.

“I have on Thursday 8th October 2020 tested positive for Covid -19. 
I am now in self-isolation from the camp for a period as guided by the health officials for better medication and recovery.

While I am away, I will help conduct some sessions with my technical team for the players online as we continue with preparations for the FIFA U17 World cup Qualifier with Cameroon,” Ayub said in a statement.

On Monday this week, the Uganda U17 national team started their residential training ahead of the upcoming FIFA U17 Women World Cup qualifier against Cameroon. Uganda will host Cameroon in the first leg a on October 31, in Kampala before the return leg two weeks later in Cameroon.
