The National Unity Platform (NUP) Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya has confirmed that the party will launch its manifesto this Friday November 5 2020 at their Western Uganda office in Mbarara.

The NUP presidential candidate Kyagulanyi Robert Sentamu was supposed to launch his manifesto yesterday at their party headquarters in Kamwokya. But after he duly got nominated at Kyambogo Play Grounds, police arrested him and whisked him away put to his home in Magere.

Rubongoya told journalists this morning that whatever happened to them yesterday, they have to keep moving as they have to get ready for campaigns on time.

While delivering his address yesterday, Kyagulanyi said that he has offered himself as a candidate for the highest office as a representative of all the oppressed Ugandans. He however said that he’s not the most qualified but the trust the masses have in him inspired his decision to stand.

“In this election, I am representing the weak, poor and downtrodden Ugandans. I am representing those who have been excluded by a system which only works for the few who have patrons in high places,” Kyagulanyi said.

Bobi Wine is among the 10 presidential candidates that are vying to unseat incumbent President Yoweri Museveni. Others include; Mugisha Muntu, Henry Tumukunde, Norbert Mao, Amuriat Patrick Oboi, Willy Mayambala, Fred Mwesigye, Nancy Kalembe, John Katumba and Joseph Kabuleta.
