News reaching us indicates that Security forces have raided National Unity Platform (NUP) offices in Moroto. According to the party, the motive of the raid is yet to be known.

NUP claims that campaign posters of their presidential candidate Kyagulanyi Robert Sentamu in the vicinity have been pulled down.

“The atmosphere of intimidation that manifests every day clearly shows how much panic is in the oppressor’s camp. Surely nothing can save the dictatorship,” says NUP.

This is the third NUP office to be raided by police in a space of three weeks. First the joint security team invaded their headquarters in Kamwokya where they confiscated valuables and other materials that included; red berets, branding material, umbrellas, computers, t-shirts and CCTV footage among other items.

A few days later, the party offices in Jinja were also raided and several officials were arrested.
