Sunday afternoon at the Tanqueray All Music Safari was an exciting fun-filled music fiesta for those who attended the close-knit music concert hosted at Kampala Serena Hotel.

Due to the Covid-19 restrictions on crowds, only a handful revellers attended the live event, but it was live on NTV Uganda for the general public.

Guests who attended reveled in the three-hour non-stop performance of an epic line up headlined by funk masters, The Black Roots Unlimited and Kas Kasozi who left heads bopping to the tunes of their music geniuses.

Mseto Nation kicked off the show with Afro soul vibes as guests sipped on Tanqueray cocktails. Later on Tonya Michelle Ahenda and Julius Sseese set the mood going with renditions of popular timeless songs like All My Life, Dear Mama (redone in Luganda with Spyda Mc), You Belong To Me and many more throwback melodies that were trickling though the delighted audience.

The gin-themed picnic that followed the national standard operating procedures to curb the spread of COVID 19 was rightly a mix of both worlds was described by Annette Nakiyaga, The Head of International Premium Spirits at UBL as a worthwhile music event that evoked unmistakably lasting impressions for everyone.

“Just like Tanqueray is known for its classic timeless botanical flavor, this gin-picnic has made us appreciate the little things we have been missing out on, a much-needed rendezvous in the midst of everything going on around us,” said Nakiyaga.

Those who celebrated at home took to social media to share the fun times along with friends and family while at home as artists like Aloysius Migadde and Joel Kisakye serenaded the crowds into the late evening.

This year’s Tanqueray All Music Safari was held in conjunction with Rotary as has been the norm for several years and was aimed at raising funds that would go towards supporting caner patients to access treatment as donations were collected from well-wishers and other charitable organisations, this time through mobile money platforms.

The hope for everyone is that the lockdown will be lifted by the time the 14th All Music Safari runs next year, so that thousands of revellers who patronise the annual event can access it live.
