The Alliance for National Transformation presidential candidate, Maj. Gen. Mugisha Muntu has said that Ugandans deserve to experience a peaceful transition and to live in a country that works for everyone. He said that he’s the right candidate to lead this transition as he has a good track record of performance.

While campaigning in Rwampara district yesterday, the former army commander said he is not asking for their votes based merely on promises.

“I come to you with a record you can look to as evidence upon which to decide whether to trust me. I have led the country’s army without stealing a coin from it. I led it by example, establishing discipline among then rank and file and taking responsibility for our shortcomings.

I turned down ministerial posts because I disagreed with the direction our country was headed. I helped establish one of the biggest opposition parties in the country, accepted the will of the people when they chose me and also when they didn’t,” Mugisha Muntu said.

He added, “I come to you fellow Ugandans, with a promise. If you vote me in as the next president of the country, by God’s grace, I will work day and night to make us the envy of nations.”

Muntu will today continue with his campaigns in the areas of Rubirizi, Bushenyi and Sheema.
