Following Bobi Wine’s arrest in Luuka district for allegedly flouting the Electoral Commission guidelines on Covid-19. Four Presidential candidates decided to suspend their campaigns until Bobi Wine is released from Nalufenya where he is detained.

However, presidential candidate Kabuleta has refused to suspend his campaigns. Kabuleta says boycott would be an effective strategy if Museveni was still capable of being shamed, but he isn’t.

“We are 11 candidates, which makes a football team. If two of our players are temporarily and unjustly taken off the pitch, our best chances of victory lie in the remaining 9 players pulling up their socks and attacking the opponent ferociously,” said Kabuleeta

He further explained that if all of them walk off the pitch in protest, the match is easily won by the opponent who happens to be the referee.

Kabuleeta also said that if it was him who was brutally arrested he would have desired for Bobi Wine to continue with the campaign.

Kabuleta added that Museveni can choose to rent crowds in their thousands to follow him on the campaign trail, and in the same twist arrest his opponents for gathering crowds of genuine supporters.
