Following the unfortunate events that occurred last week when the National Unity Platform Presidential candidate Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi was arrested, the Minister of Security Gen. Elly Tumwine has condemned the genocide language that ensued last week.

“The genocide language that accompanied the violence where the so far called representatives , I don’t know whether they represent the Baganda because I am yet to hear whether the leadership of the baganda are coming out to either own these people or deny them who are threatening other tribes,” said Gen. Tumwine.

Gen. Tumwine also said that he’s yet to hear anybody in the leadership of Buganda speaking about the peaceful co-existence of the people of Uganda and disowning those people preaching the genocide language.

“I am yet to hear a Buganda official saying these people were not speaking on our behalf because it’s not in the interest of any tribe for anybody to speak a genocide language which threatens the peaceful co-existence of the people,” said Gen. Tumwine.
