In reaction to the endless brutality at the hands of the security forces especially police, the National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine has suspended his presidential campaigns.

Bobi Wine says he will not campaign for the next two days until the Electoral Commission (EC) explains to him why his rallies are being violently stopped by security personnel.

He says he will be meeting the EC boss Justice Simon Byabakama to demand for an explanation on why the commission is quiet yet security continues to torment him and his supporters.

Only today, several NUP supporters have been badly injured in Kayunga and Jinja as police tried to block Bobi Wine from proceeding with his campaign trail. Notably Bobi Wine’s producer Sir Dan Magic and his EC-attached guard ASP Kato were rushed to hospital in Nazigo after being hit by rubber bullets.
