Finance Minister Kasaija warming up for parliament—opponent backs out from race for top gov’t job

The Minister for Finance Hon. Matia Kasaija joins the list of the unopposed Members of Parliament waiting to be sworn in next year. Earlier today Hon. Dr. Paul Kyalimpa an independent who was vying for the Buyanja Parliamentary seat withdrew from the seat leaving Hon. Minister Kasaija unopposed.

The Kibaale district returning officer Aggrey Ipeto declared Hon. Matia Kasaija of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) as unopposed candidate.

Hon. Kasaija is said to be scouting for his former opponent Kyalimpa a post as the Deputy Director General of Uganda Investment Authority
