The Uganda Comedians Association (TUCA) has also joined other Industry Stakeholders to express their displeasure towards Police allowing Nigerian singer Omah Lay to stage a show in Uganda yet the entire industry has been on lockdown for nine months.

In a statement issued by the association, it says that the Ugandan entertainers have adhered to the set COVID-19 guidelines but it baffles them that even when government has allowed them to resume business, foreigners are allowed to perform.

“It’s an insult to the talented entertainers in Uganda,” says TUCA.

Hannington Bugingo, the association president says at this point events organisers have found means of staging and managing shows during this pandemic.

“We want to urge Gov’t to look into slowly and carefully letting shows resume with strict SOPs,” says TUCA.
