The Electoral Commission (EC) is yet to officially announce the winner of Kampala Lord Mayor race due to technical glitches that have forced them to fill in the results manually into the system according to Barbra Mulimira, the Kampala Returning Officer.

However, provisional  results show incumbent Erias Lukwago is enjoying a comfortable lead from the so far entered 980 polling stations out of the 1423. It’s a matter of time that Lukwago will be declared winner.

The race had 11 other contestants and singer Joseph Mayanja alias Jose Chameleone who contested as an Independent was one of them   with too much hope of ousting Lukwago. But results indicate that he’s most likely to finish fourth behind Lukwago, Nabilah Nagayi and fellow singer Daniel Kazibwe alias Raga DEE.

Pius Mayanja popularly known as Pallaso, a brother to Chameleone has taken to his social media and foul cried for his brother’s loss.

Pallaso wonders how Uganda will attain change if majority cannot trust young leaders.

“I still don’t understand how Uganda will attain change by divisions and disbelief in young leaders. We are stronger together.

I wish our politics was different. I wish we can lift each other more,” Pallaso said before thanking all those that trusted Chameleone with their votes.
