Pastor steals from shrine property worth Shs3m, takes it to his church for ‘Holy Spirit’ to disable their powers

Butabala Police Post in Kamuli District has a arrested a one Pastor Alex Mukisa of Prayer-force Ministries in Butabala for trespassing and stealing property worth Shs3 million from the shrine.

The Busoga North Regional Police Spokesperson, Michael Kasadha said that Pastor Mukisa broke into Paul Alilumboyo’s shrine a week ago and stole property worth Shs3m. The property included; statues, the sacred cash basket with Shs1.6m and patients’ clothes among others.

Alilumboyo narrated to police that after his shrine was broken into, one of his patients revealed to him how he has seen a cloth he brought to the shrine at Pastor Mukisa’s church.

Alilumboyo decided to engage police and got the pastor arrested.

Mukisa confessed to stealing property from the shrine but denied taking any hard cash.

“When I entered the shrine, I took the bed sheets and ‘gomesis’ to the Church’s Altar, dedicated the fetishes to Holy Spirit to disable their powers and render them impotent and harmless after which I’ll testify to my followers how they are conned by witch-doctors,” Mukisa is reported to have told the police detectives.

Mukisa will face charges of trespass, malicious damage to property and theft once investigations are complete.
