Veteran politician Joyce Nabbosa Ssebugwawo, one of the top Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) stalwarts has been named in President Yoweri Museveni’s new cabinet that he has released this evening.

Ssebugwawo is now the Minister of State for Information Communication Technology and National Guidance waiting to be approved by Parliament Appointment Committee.

It’s not that shocking for Museveni to appoint opposition figure as in the recent years he has named Betty Anywar, Betty Kamya and Nakiwala Kiyinji among others in his cabinet.

In the January 14 2021 polls, Ssebugwawo was trounced by National Unity Platform’s little known Zachary   Mawula Mberaze in the Lubaga Division mayoral race.

Mberaze scored 37,652 votes while Ssebugwawo garnered 25,718 votes.

Ssebugwawo is a former minister in the Buganda government. She joined the Buganda government in early 1980s where she worked as a Minister for women, community work and mobilization. She is also a former National Chairperson of Forum for Democratic Change.
