Police warns LCs from reckless issuance of movement permits

With the ongoing lockdown, Local Council chairpersons were given the mandate to issue movement permits for people in their areas incase of an emergency.


However the Public Relations Officer, Criminal Investigation Directorate, Charles Twiine has issued a warning to the LCs that are recklessly issuing permits


“Police warns LCs from reckless issuance of movement permits.Some users reveal that they are charged some money by the LCs before issuing.The issuance must STRICTLY be in conformity with Sops NOT for monetary gains, ” stated Twiine.

Twiine issued a warning to all the village chairpersons using the process for their monetary gains.


While declaring a 42-days lockdown on Friday 18, June 2021, President Yoweri Museveni, said LCs and RDCs can issue travel clearance to people going for medical services such as pregnant mothers and other condition
