“We believe that our country can be built by ourselves. Our goal is to make sure that we can support the local investors to set up and register their businesses as soon as possible,” said Anite.

Prof Ogwang said that the first Investment one must take advantage of is their brain- that’s how we can advance as Uganda.

A week ago, Prof. Ogwang applied for trademark recognition of his drug by Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB).  According to the Uganda Gazette, the application was made under reference number 2021/71772 and is dated June 28, 2021. In the application, Prof Ogwang listed his address as Akright, Entebbe Road Kampala.

This was after the Mbarara University management came out and said that it will block Jena Herbals Uganda Limited, the manufacturer of Covidex from taking sole ownership of the product claiming COVIDEX was developed by the university under Pharm-Biotechnology and Traditional Medicine Centre.
