The giving of Members of Parliament shs200million to procure vehicles during a time when the country is battling the Covid 19 Pandemic caused a national debate with many disagreeing with the move. The Leader of Opposition Hon. Mathias Mpuuga has however said that the discussion around the Shs200million for MPs to procure vehicles is a dishonest conversation.
“Shs 200 million only buys a second-hand car in Uganda. We need an honest way about how it can be done properly. The first budget of Parliament was cut by UGX 80 billion because of COVID19,” said Mpuuga.
While appearing on the NBS Morning Breeze,Mpuuga also said that there’s need to wholly discuss the context of the structure of government and how it has affected service delivery.
He added that the country needs more than just the Parliamentarians receiving UGX 200 million to rectify what has gone wrong.
