IGP Ochola tasks Director Police Health Services Dr Byaruhanga to establish the cause of Gen Lokech’s death

The country is in shock and disbelief following the sudden death of Deputy Inspector General Of Police Gen Paul Lokech that occurred today morning.
“The IGP with deep sorrow regrets to announce the sudden demise of the deputy Inspector General of Police , Maj General Paul Lokech. He passed on from his home this morning,” Police confirmed the sad news in a statement.
Reports of the cause of Lokech’s sudden death have started to circulate with many of them claiming he succumbed to a blood clot.
As the country waits for the official statement concerning the cause of his death, IGP Martin Okoth Ochola has directed the Director of Police Health Services Dr. Moses Byaruhanga to establish the cause of Lokech’s death.

“With deep sorrow I regret to announce the sudden death of the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Major General Paul Lokech. I have tasked the Director of Medical Services, Dr. Moses Byaruhanga to carry out postmortem to establish the cause of death,” he said.

Known as the Lion Of Mogadishu, Gen Lokech has been the deputy IGP and was the man in charge of the investigation into the attempted assassination on Gen Edward Katumba Wamala’s life.

Lokech, was a senior military officer at the rank of Major General, in the Uganda People’s Defence Forces, who was appointed Deputy Inspector General of Police of the Uganda Police Force on December 16 2020.
