Certainly, he will narrate the details himself at the appropriate time. Our legal team remains Committed to promptly follow up all due processes,” said Nkunyingi.

In August, news that Lumbuye had been picked by unknown gunmen from his house in Istanbul, Turkey over unclear offenses circulated on different media and social media platforms. State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Henry Oryem Okello, came out and confirmed the arrest before stating that Lumbuye was set to be deported, a statement he later denied.

NUP party sent a team of lawyers led by Nkunyingi to handle the controversy surrounding the deportation of Lumbuye. They called off the move after failing to locate Lumbuye.

Nonetheless, in September the Turkish-based government critic was located at KOCAELI Detention Centre.
