Mukono Municipality Member of Parliament, Hon Nambooze Bakireke Betty has this morning allegedly survived an attack by a panga-wielding man.

In a circulating video that Nambooze has shared on her social media narrating the ordeal of the incident, she says she woke up early to prepare to head to parliament and attend a Shadow Cabinet meeting.

Her husband had already left the bed and was in the sitting room holding his usual morning prayers. She says the rest of the family members were busy with their usual morning duties.

“I was shocked to see a strange man standing in the middle of my bedroom with a panga and spear,” said Nambooze before breaking down into tears.

She narrated that she ran to the bathroom and closed herself inside.

“The man told me to say my last prayers because he was going to kill me,” she said.

However, the man escaped after hearing the footsteps of people coming in.

“By lord’s mercies, I managed to survive with no harm. I am now wondering what was the motive of the attack,” she said.

She suspects that the assailant accessed her home after jumping over the neighbor’s wall fence.
