Nakalembe wins 2021 Tusker Malt Ladies Golf Open

Irene Nakalembe is the winner of the 2021 Tusker Malt Uganda Ladies Golf Open played at the par-71 Entebbe Golf course.

The three-day Ladies event climaxed on Saturday.

Despite a slow start on Day one, Nakalembe powered into the lead on day two when she scored a par 71 to lead by two strokes and later held onto her advantage on Saturday to clinch the title.

The handicap four golfer shot 9 over par 222 (78, 71 & 73) to finish three strokes ahead of Mercy Nyanchama (Kenya).

Nyanchama finished second with 225 while Martha Babirye, the defending champion settled for the third position. She had won the previous two editions in 2019 and 2020.

The two-day Seniors Open also climaxed on Saturday with John Muchiri claiming the top prize thanks to his unprecedented score of 20 over par 162 (80, 82).

Joseph Bagabo (22 over par 164) and Tony Kidasha (24 over par 166) came second and third in that order.

It should be noted that Tusker Malt Lager sponsored the 2021 Uganda Golf Open with a Sh300m package.
