In sports, nutrition is essential as it supports an athlete’s general health and training needs. Having a suitable diet provides a person with enough energy and nutrients to meet the demands of training and exercise.

It is on such grounds that clubs hire professional chefs to cook for their players and staff.

Kenya’s Beatrice Kariuki is one chef exercising her skills at the top level. She currently works as Arsenal’s first team private chef.

Who is the 33-year-old Ugandan who could become New York City mayor?

According to Kenyan websites, Kariuki was born and raised in Jericho estate, in Nairobi’s Eastlands.

However, since finishing school, she has been working in the hospitality industry. This has enabled her to work in several prestigious hotels in the United Kingdom (UK). These include; Dorchester Hotel and the Waldorf Hilton Hotel which are both based in London.

It’s in 2021 that she landed her ‘dream job’ of cooking for Mikel Arteta’s boys (Arsenal players).

“A girl from the ghetto Jericho living nothing but her dreams. May I reintroduce myself as Arsenal’s first-team private chef,” Kariuki announced her appointment.

She has since been preparing meals for the first team players at the London Colney training ground including Gabon forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ivorian Nicholas Pepe, and Ghanaian Thomas Partey, among others.
