Onyango gifts U20 Women’s National Team

Former Uganda Cranes Captain Denis Onyango has decided to dig into his pockets and gift a few members of the Uganda U20 Women’s National Team that is in camp in Johannesburg, South Africa ahead of the 2022 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers return leg.

Onyango who plays in South Africa for Mamelodi Sundown paid a courtesy visit to the team and gifted goalkeepers Daphine Nyayenga, Joan Namusisi, and Saidah Namwanje with a pair of gloves each as well as Goalkeeping Coach Mubarak Kiberu.

He also offered a pair of new soccer boots to forward Hadijah Nandago.

Uganda will face South Africa in the return leg of the third round of FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers with the game slated for Friday at Dobsonsville Stadium.

Uganda won the first leg 1-0 at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on December 3 courtesy of Hadijah Nandago’s goal.
