Over the weekend on Saturday, President Yoweri Museveni addressed the country on security and related issues. Museveni admitted to the recent wave of ‘kidnaps’ as he said that CMI and Commandos have been on mission arresting individuals that were planning to destabilize the country.

“There were people who were arrested by CMI. They were in two categories which involved 177 who were granted bail or released. Another is 65 still being investigated. Their names should be made public so that this talk of disappearance is answered,” Museveni said.

He further explained that another group of people were arrested by the commandos from Kyotera, Mpigi, Nakasongola, and Kampala and they were 59 in number and so far 15 have since been released.

The arrested individuals are said to be affiliated to the National Unity Platform Party and Bobi Wine.

Bobi Wine has said that Museveni put a lot of lies in his address especially in the number of people that have been arrested. The presidential hopeful decided to release a list of people that have gone missing.

“Gen. Museveni came on TV, admitted to the abductions of our people while downplaying the extent and effect! Like all tyrants, he pushed the narrative that all is well, with hundreds of mothers, fathers and siblings in tears over missing loved ones. Here’s part 1 of the list,” Bobi Wine said.
