NRM SG Lumumba: Bobi Wine should stop giving his supporters false hope

The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) Secretary General has defended the victory of their party presidential candidate President Yoweri Museveni in the 2021 polls.

Lumumba said that Museveni won because of his ‘rich’ ideologies and his opponents especially National Unity Platform’s candidate Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine was so reckless with the tribal sentiments. She said that Bobi Wine painted a picture that it’s the western region of Uganda that has benefited most from Museveni’s government.

She added that NRM swept the North this time because the people in the North have appreciated the infrastructural development that has been put up in the region by the NRM Government unlike before when the area was doing so bad especially during the times of the LRA rebels of Joseph Kony.

According to Lumumba, NUP’s target in the 2021 polls was to become the leading opposition party in Uganda but not taking power from NRM.

Lumumba stated that the NRM victory was a sign that the people of Uganda want a secure future not people who threaten to bring anarchy and Mayhem in the country.

She therefore advised Kyagulanyi to stop giving his supporters false hope that he can ever take power from Museveni or even destabilize Uganda.
